This video is a computer generated traffic model analysis of Main Street Tupelo after implementation of the proposed transportation changes. This includes changing Main Street to a 3-Lane roadway section between Front Street and Green Street. A center turn lane would be added at the Front Street intersection, and would carry through to Green Street, allowing safe left turn movement through this entire section of road. Through traffic would be reduced to two lanes instead of four, however the proposal calls for synchronization of the traffic signals that would provide a more continuous movement of cars along Main. Currently the traffic signals are not synchronized which causes delays in traffic movement.
